I have always felt enchanted by the warm light of a burning candle. Ever since I was a child, I had felt that a burning candle goes hand-in-hand with a warm home, filled with love and acceptance. I think that which fascinated me about the ambience which may be offered by a lit candle is the combination of the small, flickering light with the scent which infused the surrounding space giving it a specific mood and prompting imaginative journeys to a place of joy and contentment. When I eventually grew up and my life became more complicated, riddled with difficulty and uncertainty – as it happens to everyone – I often would catch myself trying to recreate that ambience of warmth and safety; that feeling of being cocooned in a small house in the countryside where I grew up, while outside the bad weather would often cut our power off. Indeed, I started buying scented candles every chance I got, already with my first paycheck. As the years went by and though these purchases were more of a luxury than anything else, I never once stopped to think that I should cut them out of my life entirely. This was because I felt that they had the power to grant me a sense of happiness, joy, and contentment; that they could grant me the feeling that no matter how hard things may get, everything would work out in the end. Indeed, in my experience, I could not find such soothing and calming feelings anywhere else.

And so, many more years passed until I started to get an inkling, a small seed of an idea that maybe, just maybe I could make my own scented candles. This small thought turned into a fully fleshed out idea, and before I knew it, I had this need to allow my creativity to express itself in this way. Thus, I started to experiment along with my late husband Peter with creating scented candles from scratch, dedicating countless hours after coming home from work every day.All that effort has brought me to this stage of now knowing the correct ratios and quantities that go into making a candle, as well as which scents go together, and which do not; the result of all this effort was wonderful to me. That is how I got into the business of creating scented candles which filled me with such joy then and still do to this day. And this is also why I wished to share these feelings with my friends and family at first, whom I wanted to introduce to the magic that radiates off a burning scented candle. These same friends and family members encouraged me to go one step further and help others create their very own signature space through the burning of scented wax. All so they too can feel the same way I felt when burning a scented candle at the end of a long, hard day. Joy, happiness, and contentment.
